Energy Swing Windows Receives The BBB Torch Award For Business Ethics For An Unprecedented Third Time
Energy Swing Windows has been presented with the prestigious Better Business Bureau 2016 Torch Award for Ethics.
Energy Swing was singled out for this honor from the Better Business Bureau’s more than 3,200 member companies in 28 Western PA counties. They are the only company to win this award three consecutive times – in 2008, 2012 and 2016 (a company is only eligible to win every four years).
Murrysville, PA – The Torch Award for Ethics honors companies whose leaders demonstrate a high level of personal character and ensure that the organization’s practices meet the highest standards of ethics and trust. The winners of this award have organizations that build lasting trust among their employees, customers, and their communities.
“Energy Swing stood out from a variety of applicants in a wide diversity of industries and were selected by an independent panel of academic judges from Duquesne University’s Graduate Business School for their exceptional ethical conduct in the marketplace,” says Warren King, President of the Better Business Bureau of Western PA. “The judges’ feedback was consistent that Energy Swing stood out because the organization’s practices consistently meet the highest standards of ethics. Home improvement and contracting is probably the industry that receives the highest percentage of BBB complaints. The fact that Energy Swing has received this award three times in that industry make their accomplishment doubly impressive.”
Warren continued, “At Energy Swing improving every aspect of the client experience is a constant, never ending job. Doing things right requires continual customer focused employee training with a mindset that is aimed at delivering value to the client at every interaction. This is one of the primary reasons Energy Swing has never received a BBB complaint since being founded almost twenty years ago.”
According to one of the judges, Professor James Weber, Director of Duquesne’s Institute for Ethics in Business, “Ethics is the driving force for Energy Swing Windows. The company does not take advantage of the consumers’ lack of familiarity, but rather provides extensive consumer education so the consumer can make an informed choice when considering their purchase. I was impressed by the way they operate compared to the unethical practices that are common in many industries and how a consideration for delivering customer value in a price-driven industry permeates the very core of the company and every person on the Energy Swing Team.”
“Being honored with this recognition for a third time is great, but what I really feel proud about is that it is a reflection of the way we run our business and treat our clients. While I can set the tone, it takes the right kind of people to consistently do the Right Things Right. I am proud of Energy Swing Windows and the team we have built to deliver true value to our clients,” says Rennekamp on winning the award. “We’re not perfect, but we know we need to constantly raise the bar to make ourselves even better than we are. Energy Swing Windows was founded with a win/win/win/win philosophy that translates into meaningful commitments to our clients, employees, vendors and the communities we serve.”
Steve Rennekamp, owner of Energy Swing Windows proudly accepted the award from Warren King in the company’s window manufacturing facility in front of family members, employees, colleagues and peers. At the end of his acceptance, Steve said that “We can’t rest on our laurels. We need to start working on the things that will make us better so we are worthy to earn our next Torch Award four years from now.” Energy Swing will now move on to participate in the competition for the International Torch Award for Business Ethics.
