Energy Swing Windows of Murrysville Doubles Its Goal By Raising More Than $14,000 For Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)
Energy Swing Windows has constantly increased the goal every year for the five years they have been involved with JDRF. Over that time, Energy Swing has raised close to $40,000 for this worthwhile cause. They blew away their 2016 goal of $7,000, by raising more than twice that amount. They ended up raising more than $14,000.
Murrysville, PA – December 2016 – Sometimes all it takes is one person to inspire many to become involved in an important cause. Steve Rennekamp, owner of Energy Swing Windows, is so committed to JDRF that it inspires those around him to get involved as much as they can, whether it’s walking in the JDRF Westmoreland Walk, donating to the organization, or both. According to Rennekamp,“Families with a child who has Type 1 Diabetes face a daily challenge in trying to balance life-threatening low blood sugars and the damaging impact of blood sugar levels that are too high. Kids with Type 1 look the same as other kids, but they lead completely different lives. Children with T1 Diabetes need to test their blood sugar frequently and get insulin (with injections or a pump) multiple times per day – every day for the rest of their lives. It is a constant struggle for them and their families to keep things in control and balanced, especially when it strikes an infant. I know firsthand the devastating impact from this disease because both my first wife and my son died from complications brought on by fighting diabetes every day. This is why I am involved with JDRF and why Energy Swing Windows walks as a team to raise money to support the amazing research that is taking place to make Type 1, Type None.”

They ended up raising more than $14,000 in three ways:
- Individual donations made by friends and family of the Energy Swing Windows Walk Team
- 1% of all Energy Swing Windows sales for the months of September and October
- A $2,000 donation made directly to JDRF by Standard Bank’s Charitable Foundation on behalf of Energy Swing Windows fund raising efforts
Every day, there are more than 80 children and young adults diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in the United States. Currently, there is no cure for diabetes. However, the disease is easier and more manageable to live with than in the past due to medical research and advancements funded by organizations like JDRF.
