Breakthrough T1D One Walk
On Saturday, November 2, 2024 the T1D Walk (formerly JDRF) took place at Acrisure Stadium. Team Energy Swing was proudly represented as one of the 170 walk teams. They had a large turnout of over 2,000 walk participants. Energy Swing President, Steve Rennekamp, was in attendance for the walk. He summarized the event by saying, “The event itself was nothing short of inspiring. The atmosphere at Acrisure was both heartwarming and powerful, and it only reinforced the personal commitment and passion behind the cause.”
Energy Swing is a leader in corporate fundraising for Breakthrough T1D in Westmoreland County for the past four years. This year, organizers combined the Pittsburgh and Westmoreland County walks into one massive western Pennsylvania event. However, despite the expanded scale, Energy Swing was once again honored as the largest corporate fundraiser in the region. This is a remarkable achievement for a company of its size.
In recognition of this accomplishment, the Energy Swing team was presented with an award just before the walk began. Event organizers shared some kind words over the loudspeaker to the crowd of 2,000 attendees. They highlighted Energy Swing’s long-term dedication to the cause and the impressive $140,000 the company has raised for Breakthrough T1D over the past twelve years. Rennekamp said it was a moment of immense pride and honor.
In 2024, Energy Swing raised $21,500!
The company’s ongoing support of Breakthrough T1D has been a driving force behind its recognition of the BBB Torch Award. The accolade that speaks to Energy Swing’s unwavering commitment to community and charitable efforts.
Looking back on the success of this year’s walk, Energy Swing has much to be proud of. The efforts to support Breakthrough T1D and the recognition earned undoubtedly remind us of the positive impact we make when united for a common cause.
